Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – New York/Detroit

Our client is a leader in the national video market, providing data-driven advertising to target TV audiences and create lasting brand impressions. They’re looking for a talented Chief Technology Officer to lead their team in building out growth opportunities, developing strategy, and establishing the company’s long-term vision. As CTO, you’ll be responsible for all advertising and business operations, including the company’s technology and resources. The ideal candidate is experienced in cloud infrastructure, building at scale, and test automation with a deep understanding of the digital media marketplace and programmatic platforms. This role requires a leader who can align multiple strategies and ideas to propel their vision.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish technical and strategic vision to continue developing company network, developing a timeline for web, mobile, and technical services lifecycle
  • Serve as point of contact for all company’s technology, defining performance measurements and company standards, overseeing web analytics, and offering recommendations that adhere to client objectives and minimize risk
  • Collaborating cross-functionally and with department heads to support company culture and values
  • Prioritize engineering team and efforts to ensure standards and best practices are upheld, including compliance with regulations and laws, and maintaining network security
  • Mentoring team members and overseeing hiring across tech department
  • Determine new internal and external opportunities for services
  • Oversee software development process from setting objectives, establishing budget and time frames to optimize development process
  • Represent brand at industry events to expand network of potential tech partners and stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Evaluate effectiveness of information processing systems and design solutions for improvement
  • Create disaster readiness and emergency recovery procedures

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7 + years of experience in a management or leadership role
  • 10 + years of experience in software development or engineering role
  • BS/BA in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor teams of 35 + either direct or matrixed, experience leading a remote team highly preferred
  • Recruitment experience, including taking responsibility of talent pipeline, maintaining high quality of candidates, and setting hiring benchmarks
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to analyze and respond quickly to provide clear solutions
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Commitment to company mission and revenue goals
