Data Science Manager – US – Remote

The Role: Our client is a leading data and analytics company focused on improving transportation. They are looking for an Analytics Manager on the Advertising Data Science team; you will be responsible for leading and inspiring a world-class group of data scientists, data engineers and business analytics consultants to develop and deliver their advertising products on both platforms. You are expected to influence the product strategy from a strong analytics lens. You will also help to recruit and lead top talent and have a key voice in the analytics operations. 

Responsibilities

  • Be a servant leader for technical contributors in Analytics roles engaged with cross-functional product development teams through coaching and mentoring
  • Develop strategic analytics visions based on the product needs
  • Translate strategic vision into priorities and tangible tracks of backlogs using data science expertise
  • Provide technical direction to the team to ensure timeliness and quality of deliverables
  • Work with engineering team to productionize our insights in an efficient way
  • Get your hands dirty, dive into the data, and run analysis or build models whenever needed
  • Drive continuous improvement of data science, and data engineering practices to create world-class capabilities
  • Support sales and customer success efforts by demonstrating analytics maturity coupled with humility and empathy
  • Build our client’s brand by engaging in conferences, meetups, blogs, and other external public engagements
  • Drive recruiting by leading efforts to build relationships in the industry, attend career fairs and create strong interviewing pipelines

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Geospatial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or in a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of industrial experience in marketing data analytics with solid knowledge on digital and programmatic marketing and common KPIs such as CPC, CPM
  • Working knowledge on marketing analytics, geospatial analysis, business intelligence, data engineering, machine learning, or other analytics experience in a business context, as well as hands-on experience using various tools such as Python, Spark, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience working in cloud-first environments, particularly AWS, EMR studio, Glue, Sagemaker
  • Experience of managing technical teams including data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts
  • Experience of leading end-to-end data science projects to generate measurable business values
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results on cross-functional projects in marketing campaigns with measurements
  • Highly innovative thought leaders who envision and articulate radical change
  • Inspires/mentors/coaches people to be bold and do the best work of their careers
  • Proven champions of agile product development practices and respected by peers for their technical prowess
